Register to Judge at the 2025 Coolidge Cup

Thank you for your interest in participating as a citizen judge for the 2025 Coolidge Cup. Without you, we could not run this program.

We encourage you to review details about this year’s tournament, including the most up-to-date schedule. Please use the form below to register for the times that you would like to judge. Citizen judges who plan to judge for the 9:00 AM round on any day should plan to arrive at 8:00 AM and partake in a live judge training session. We provide coffee and pastries! We ask all judges to attend a training session before judging their first round (you do not need to attend it multiple times).

On the days when you judge, you are invited to participate in our on-site lunches and dinners. If you have any questions, contact Director of Speech and Debate, Jonathan Peele.

  • You may choose one or both. We will do our best to give you your preference. We have a substantially greater need for judges in debate than in speech.
  • Below are the times for which we will need speech and debate judges for the 2025 Coolidge Cup in Plymouth, Vermont. Please indicate when you are available to judge. Also note that we will provide training materials, including videos, in advance. We offer a live judge training session each day 8:00 AM-8:45 AM.
  • Please provide a brief 2-3 sentence bio. Perhaps say who you are, where you are from, and what you do. It need not be formal.
  • Are there any competitors at this tournament who you know in advance that you should NOT be assigned to judge for any reason? (The most common type of conflict would be if you have any children competing or students whom you coach.) If so, list their name(s) here. If not, leave this space blank.
  • We want to make the judging experience as enjoyable, comfortable, and rewarding as possible. If you have any special requests, please let us know here.
