The Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation comes to Capitol Hill on November 12, 2014, with a conference titled “The Virtuous Obsession: How Better Budget Law Is Key to Meeting Our Fiscal Challenges.” Budgeting was President Coolidge’s specialty. Coolidge once remarked budgets were “a sort of obsession with me,” and he believed a good budget “as among the noblest monuments of virtue.”
Join us as we return to Coolidge’s timeless budget obsession. This conference will examine the federal budget process and explore reforms that could substantially improve America’s fiscal situation and secure a strong future for generations of Americans to come. Partnering with the Coolidge Foundation in this bipartisan effort is honorary co-host Senator Jeff Sessions, ranking member of the Senate Budget Committee, and a wide array of leading budget authorities from across academia, think tanks, and government.
