Coolidge Foundation 2025 Economic Essay Contest Deadline

The Coolidge Foundation 2025 Economic Essay Contest for U.S. High School and College Students

Enter the 2025 Coolidge Foundation Economic Essay Contest for an opportunity to win up to $10,000.

The Coolidge Foundation has launched this contest because high schools and colleges don’t often give young minds a chance to think about economic policy — Calvin Coolidge’s passion.

The subject of this year’s contest is the protectionist Jones Act of 1920.

Up to ten entrants in each of the contest’s divisions, high school and college, will be selected as finalists. Every finalist will receive:

  1. A cash prize of $1,000
  2. An expenses-paid trip to D.C. this fall for the finalists’ event
  3. The opportunity to compete for the $10,000 Block Prize and the $5,000 second-place prize, and to have their essay published in the Coolidge Review magazine

Do you know a high school or college student interested in economic policy? Share the contest page with them so they can start their entry. The submission deadline is September 10.
