Dear Father

Why do you propose to lie down and let the Post Office be taken away from you?

Now you just get out a petition at once and get what signers you can, that is if her four years are out and it is a matter of reappointing her.

If her term is not out there is no need of a petition. Get all the Town officers you can wherever they get their mail and all the men and women you can who get their mail there. Have the Town Rep write both Senators and your Congressman. You write to Senator Page and Rep Plumley yourself and at once. Write Plumley at length and tell him all about it. I have asked J. G. Sargent to do something. You better see him and Gov Stickney and do what they advise, get Hon W. E. Johnson to write Plumley also A. F Hubbard A word to Rep Plumley from the right person will offset all the petitions that can be sent him. I do not know enough about conditions in Vt. so as to be able to advise much but Gov. S & JG. S will know all about it. I should suppose a word from Atty Gen. born in the town and knowing to all the conditions there would be all that would be required You go right down and see them and do what they say.
