Dear Papa

I write to let you know that I am well and getting along all right.

I suppose I have been to school in the old Academy building for the last time.

We now move out and up to Whitcomb’s & Atherton’s hall.

I went down to the ox roast, at Perkinsville, with Hicks, last Wed. I had a very good time.

We get through Astronomy and Latin Monday.

Tues we shall commence to read some fables in Latin out of two new books that we shall have to get.

We have already gone father in Greek than the class of 81 went during their first term.

Mr. & Mrs. Colburn started for Kansas City on the noon train Thursday.

Thursday, two boys from Lynn Mass. came here to go to school; one of them will be in my classes in Latin & Greek

I am not much acquainted with them, but like what I have seen of them very much.

Prof. wants I should give him a note from you, so he can be sure that you know I went to the ox roast.

Be sure and send down my chair when you get a chance.

Rev. Ora Taylor was at school yesterday morning; and made a prayer, probaly the last one that will ever be made in the old building, although perhaps there was one made last night as they had a gethering of old Students there.

I do not care whether you write the note I spoke of, and send it down or wait untill I come home and give it to me, either way will do equally well.

Your Son

J. C. C.
