Sandra E. Gale

Sandra Gale was born in England and received an undergraduate degree in hotel and Restaurant Management in Britain and worked at the BBC. Seeking new opportunities, Sandra migrated to the United States in the 1960s. In the U.S. she earned an MBA at St. Mary’s in Moraga, CA. A long-time executive at Del Monte, Sandra went into business on her own. She and her late husband founded the Gourmet Center and several other businesses. Their business provided menu items to airlines, and also introduced the Belgian cookie Biscoff to the United States retail market.

Sandra’s husband passed away in 2007 but Sandra continued to run the businesses until 2014, entering new markets such as Canada and Brazil.

Sandra lives in San Francisco, where she supports a number of charitable institutions, including the Terma Foundation, the San Francisco Asian Women’s Shelter, the Hoover Institution, the Heritage Foundation, and the Pacific Research Institute, where she serves on the board and chairs the development committee.
