Dr. Bob Campbell adds the Middlebury Community to the CCMF family. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Davidson College with a BS degree in 1957 and an MD from Duke University in 1961, He launched a successful career on a number of fronts.
From 1961-1962 he served an Internship and Assistant Residency at New York Hospital, Cornell Medical Center and from 1962-1966 became an Ophthalmology Resident.
From 1966-1968 he served in the United States Navy with the rank of Lieutenant Commander and in 1967-1968 as Director of the Eye Department at the United States Naval Hospital in St. Albans, NY.
From 1968-2001 he was a principal at Greenwich Ophthalmology, in Greenwich, CT. He was President of the Greenwich Ophthalmology Association and from 1980-2000 was Director of the Eye Department of Greenwich Hospital. From 1990-1993 He served as Chief of the Medical Staff at Greenwich Hospital.
In retirement, he started a “new career” as an artist and oil painter and had his first solo exhibit in 2006 and has made donations of his paintings on behalf of a number of charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity in Vero Beach, FL, the Vero Beach Art Museum and the Town hall Theater in Middlebury, VT, where he was involved in their fundraising program.
He is a member of the Pastoral Care Committee at the Middlebury Congregational Church.
