Ms. Trieschmann oversees a dedicated team at the Division for Historic Preservation in the preservation of Vermont’s historic assets. Her primary focus is fostering collaborative preservation and rehabilitation, research and education, and interpretation and adaptive use of historic properties. The President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site is one of ten state-owned properties under her direction that is open to the public.

Ms. Trieschmann’s dedication to history and architecture was nurtured by her parents while living in Chicago and New Jersey. She earned undergraduate degrees in Historic Preservation and Interior Design from the Savannah College of Art and Design and pursued a Master of Science at the University of Pennsylvania. For over twenty years, Ms. Trieschmann worked in Washington, D.C., at the consulting firm EHT Traceries, Inc., where she became partner after just five years. As Director of Survey and Documentation for the firm, she managed the recordation of tens of thousands of historic buildings and archaeological sites, primarily in the District of Columbia, Maryland, and Virginia. She has authored over 100 nominations to the National Register of Historic Places, with expertise ranging from mid-18th century architecture, to Civil War battlefields, to the recent past’s Modern Movement suburbs.

Ms. Trieschmann serves on the Vermont Downtown Board and the Vermont Housing Council, and is on the board of Preservation Action, Inc. Since 2013, she has lived in Burlington, where she is restoring a house constructed in 1889.
