Come experience one of America’s best-preserved presidential birthplaces, the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth Notch, Vermont. The 600-acre site features historic buildings and artifacts from the President’s era. See the modest home where President Coolidge was born, step inside the family homestead where Coolidge took the presidential oath of office, pause for reflection in the warm, wood-paneled church where the Coolidge family worshipped, and end your visit at the humble grave site where President Coolidge rests alongside his family.
On your visit, you’ll also tour the Summer White House of 1924, walk through historic barns, see the store once operated by the Coolidge family, sample cheeses made at the Plymouth Cheese Factory founded by Coolidge’s father, and gain inspiration from the serenity of the surrounding hills.
The Museum and Education Center features award-winning educational exhibits that tell the story of Calvin Coolidge’s rise from a boyhood in the family homestead to the White House in Washington, D.C.
Open from late-May to mid-October, the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site is owned by the State of Vermont and operated by the Foundation’s partner, the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation. More information, including admission ticket information, is available on the website of the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation.
