Gala Dinner in New York City

The Calvin Coolidge Presidential Foundation is pleased to announce that our 2nd annual New York Gala Dinner will take place on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at the Metropolitan Club.

The dinner will feature two debates on income inequality: Senator Phil Gramm will debate Chrystia Freeland, Canadian MP, and top international high school debaters will square off in our Team USA vs. Team Canada debate.

The Coolidge Prize for Journalism and the Calvin Prize for Youth will also be presented. Special dinner appearances by: Lawrence Kudlow, Holman Jenkins, and Thomas W. Smith. Join for a night of of contest and a night of celebration!

The Coolidge Foundation is marking the 40th anniversary of the 1974 Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act with a conference on reforming the federal budget system. Budgeting was President Coolidge’s specialty. Coolidge once remarked budgets were “a sort of obsession with me."

Today, America's budgeting process again requires significant overhaul. This conference brings together the nation’s leading experts on budgeting to illuminate the historical record and address changes that both parties can make together to improve Congress’s budget laws and practices. Breakfast and lunch provided free of charge.

Holiday Open House

Step back in time and enjoy the traditions of the season in one of Vermont’s most scenic villages. Visit the Coolidge Birthplace, decorated as it would have been in the late 19th century. Winter exhibits at the Museum & Education Center, Aldrich House, Plymouth Cheese Factory, and 1924 Summer White House office. Baking demonstration and book signing by Gesine Bullock-Prado at 2:00. Sleigh rides, holiday music, craft demonstrations, lunch at the Wilder House Restaurant, special cancellation at the historic Plymouth post office, and children’s holiday activities. 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM. The event is free.
