Open House at the Museum and Education Center
Event Navigation
Join us on April 9 for a Spring Open House at the Coolidge Museum & Education Center at the President Calvin Coolidge State Historic Site in Plymouth, Vermont. Walk through the quiet village where Coolidge grew up, returned to, and was sworn in as our nation’s 30th President. Stop in at the award winning Plymouth Cheese Factory.
The Coolidge Museum and Education Center will be open from noon to 4:00. At 2:00 we welcome Carolyn Frisa who will share her expertise in a talk, Preserving Family Archives. Head Conservator and Owner of Works on Paper (www.works-on-paper.net) Carolyn will tell how to care for your paper-based objects in your family or museum collections. You are invited to bring a treasured print, letter, photograph, or other work on paper that you may have questions about caring for and storing. The open house and talk are free and donations are appreciated.
Are you interested in learning how to make accordion books showcasing (copies of) some of your collection? Education Director, Diane Kemble is offering a workshop, Expanding History’s Ideas with Accordion Books. (Workshop runs from 10-1, cost is $40.) For more information and to preregister, contact education@calvin-coolidge.org.
This Coolidge Foundation program is in partnership with the Vermont Division for Historic Preservation. The Coolidge Museum and Education Center is located on 3780 Route 100A in Plymouth.
